About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Valor is a FireRed-based ROM hack developed by a small two-person team. The project takes place in an all-new, custom region (currently unnamed) and follows a traditional Pokémon journey structure while introducing a new storyline centered around stolen experimental Pokémon.
The developers describe the project as intentionally staying close to a classic Pokémon experience, avoiding overly complex visual or mechanical overhauls due to limited development experience. Despite that, the hack introduces original story elements, new towns, and planned expansions such as Easter egg content and custom Eeveelution designs.
At the time of its beta release, the project was reported to be around 70% complete, with ongoing development focused on visuals, mapping, and additional systems.
Story Overview
The story takes place 30 years after the events of Pokémon Red/FireRed in a brand-new region.
You begin in Port Fromage, having just graduated from Pokémon school. Professor Vine has recently discovered ten entirely new Eeveelutions, each based on types Eevee has never evolved into before. Before these discoveries can be studied, Team Rocket steals all ten.
You and the Professor’s apprentice set off on a dual mission:
recover the stolen Eeveelutions from Team Rocket while traveling across towns like Mozzarella City and Feta Town, and earn the eight Gym Badges required to challenge the Pokémon League at Gouda Plateau.
The journey blends classic badge progression with an overarching mission tied directly to the region’s scientific breakthrough.
