About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Top Secret is a GBA ROM hack focused on storytelling, adventure, and full exploration of legendaries. Set in the X region, the hack introduces a new storyline, custom region, new trainers, new tiles, and completely reimagined gameplay events. Players join Legendlight, a global organization working to stop the nefarious Legends of Darkness, encountering traps, rivalries, and legendary Pokémon along the way.
This hack features modernized scripts, updated graphics, and new music while providing access to all legendary Pokémon and one brand-new legendary. Players will also be able to explore parts of Hoenn, Orre, and Sinnoh in addition to the new X region.
Story Overview
At 16, the hero moves from Orre to Mist Town in the X region with their parents. The father, an engineer, works for Legendlight, a global organization preventing the capture of all legendary Pokémon by the dark organization Legends of Darkness.
The hero is entrusted with a Pokémon and begins their journey alongside two other recruits, one of whom becomes a rival. While the hero is part of Legendlight, stopping Legends of Darkness is no easy task: traps, challenging terrain, and mysterious powers tied to gym badges stand in the way.
The story explores themes of good versus evil, human interference in nature, and the mysterious motives of Kurogane, leader of Legends of Darkness, who may wish to destroy the power of legendary Pokémon rather than control it. Alongside standard Gyms and the Elite Four, the adventure introduces multiple legendaries and a completely new Pokémon, blending exploration, battles, and uncovering secrets of the X region and beyond.
