About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Ruby++ is a pure enhancement hack of the original Pokémon Ruby, designed to modernize the game while preserving its core structure and story. Rather than reinventing Hoenn, Ruby++ focuses on quality-of-life improvements, balance updates, and modern mechanics inspired by later generations up to Generation 7.
This hack also serves as the foundation for a future project, Pokémon Ruby 2, which is planned to feature a new protagonist, a smaller introductory region, and a return to Hoenn with a fresh storyline—similar in philosophy to Pokémon Black 2 & White 2.
Story Overview
Pokémon Ruby++ follows the original Pokémon Ruby storyline without major narrative changes. Players experience the classic Hoenn adventure, now enhanced with updated mechanics, improved balance, and expanded Pokémon availability. Story expansions are reserved for the upcoming Ruby 2 project.
