About This ROM Hack
Pokémon NavyBlue and Pokémon TurquoiseBlue are paired Fakemon-focused Pokémon GBA ROM hacks that introduce an entirely new region, a completely original Pokédex, and experimental gameplay balance changes. Built on Pokémon FireRed, these versions aim to refresh the Pokémon experience for players who want brand-new creatures, new strategies, and a fresh world instead of familiar Pokémon.
The core appeal of the project is its 175 original Fakemon, custom tilesets, new locations, and version-exclusive content. NavyBlue and TurquoiseBlue are designed to be played as sister versions, similar to official Pokémon releases, each with unique Pokémon, trainers, and story elements.
Story Overview
The story takes place in the Larmog Region, a distant land split into two major areas by the Larmogian Sea. Rich in legends, oceans, forests, mountains, deserts, and massive cities, Larmog has a deep and tragic past.
Three thousand years ago, the 35th and final King of Larmog attempted to strengthen his kingdom by awakening a powerful Legendary Pokémon. Though the two initially bonded, the king sought to exploit the Pokémon’s power for selfish gain. This triggered the appearance of a second Legendary Pokémon, leading to a catastrophic battle that destroyed the castle—and much of the region itself.
After rebuilding, people began to fear Pokémon and eventually started using them for battle instead of servitude. Unknown to most, the king survived and has lived for centuries, seeking to reunite with the Legendary Pokémon and rewrite history, preventing the fall of his kingdom—even if it means ending Pokémon battles forever.
In the present day, you are a 12-year-old trainer living with your professor father, your mother, and your twin rival. As you explore Larmog, you’ll encounter ancient legends, rivalries, and the immortal king himself. Your choices will determine whether Larmog’s past is repeated—or finally laid to rest.
