About This ROM Hack
Pokémon: Hunters of the Ancients is a fan-made ROM hack where players take on the role of a Team Rocket member. The storyline takes place in Kanto, five years after the events of the original games. Archeologists in Kanto have discovered eight powerful artifacts, which when gathered, will summon legendary Pokémon. As a Team Rocket member, your goal is to capture these artifacts, but your journey will be fraught with challenges, as enemies like the International Pokémon Agency, Kanto Police, and even Team Magma stand in your way.
The game offers a fresh perspective on Kanto, reshaped and changed with new areas and a revamped story. Your mission revolves around collecting the artifacts instead of the usual gym badges, with many twists and surprises along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do PokéMarkets sell items to me?A: In the first cities (Viridian and Pewter), the shop assistants secretly work for Team Rocket and sell items to you. In newer cities, this will no longer be the case.
Q: Why is the gym system still in place?
A: There is only one gym battle in this hack, which is against Brock. The gym system isn’t central to the plot.
Q: Where is the Kanto map?
A: After obtaining the first artifact, go to Pallet Town and steal the map from Gary's sister.
Q: Why are the starters the same as in FireRed/LeafGreen?
A: The assault on Oak's Lab resulted in the starters being prepared for new trainers.
Q: When will the National Dex be added?
A: The National Dex will be included in Beta 0.3 or possibly Beta 0.4, which will be available after obtaining the third artifact.
