Pokémon FireRed Evolution is a difficulty‑enhanced ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed developed by jimmies. It overhauls the classic FireRed experience with modern mechanics—updating battles, evolutions, moves, abilities, and the type chart to closely follow Generation VI standards, including Fairy typing, new abilities, and improved balance.
In addition to difficulty and balance changes, FireRed Evolution expands the Pokémon roster, modernizes move and TM systems, improves sprites for many Pokémon, and replaces inconvenient evolution methods for a smoother experience.

The core story of FireRed Evolution follows the original Pokémon FireRed narrative, with Red beginning his journey in Pallet Town, collecting Gym Badges across Kanto, confronting Team Rocket, and ultimately challenging the Pokémon League.
