About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Vega is one of the most acclaimed foreign-language Pokémon hacks, originally developed by a Japanese team. It introduces a completely new region, the Tohoak Region, alongside hundreds of new Pokémon, moves, and mechanics. The hack has been fully translated into English and includes extensive postgame and rematch content.

It is a sequel to Pokémon Altair and Pokémon Sirius, which are hacks of Pokémon Emerald. Vega builds on those foundations, creating a complex and challenging experience for experienced players.

Story Overview

The story begins after the Hoenn Catastrophe, an event that dramatically reshaped the southern end of Hoenn and introduced a wave of new “Meteoric Pokémon.” Players start in Littleroot Town, tasked with completing the Pokédex under Professor Birch’s guidance.

Along the way, you encounter several characters, including April/Gordon, Billy, Mosmero, and the Gym Leaders of Hoenn. Two new villainous teams, Team BH (Black Hole) and Team WH (White Hole), are trying to manipulate the power of meteors and legendary Pokémon for their own ends.

Key plot events include:

  • Preventing Team BH from obtaining the Aura Stone at Meteor Falls.
  • Thwarting Team WH and Team BH from awakening Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre.
  • Discovering the tragic story of Aldina, a Pokémon created from human experiments.
  • Exploring Alto Mare, a water city with canals and postgame content.
  • Challenging the League and uncovering the mysteries behind the Meteoric Pokémon: Lylapse, Ganimede, and Nemea.

After the main story, players can explore Alto Mare, the Sphere Ruins, and fully complete the National Dex to trigger additional story events.
