About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Giratina Strikes Back is a fan-made Pokémon Ruby ROM hack developed by Sloo that offers a fresh, self-contained Pokémon adventure. The hack replaces the standard Hoenn narrative with an original story centered on the powerful Pokémon Giratina and a new villainous group known as Team Genesis.

The original official source for Pokémon Giratina Strikes Back is no longer available, as the primary PokeCommunity thread and related links appear to have been removed or lost over time. As a result, accurate information about the hack now relies on archived pages, community mirrors, and player-shared records. Any documentation or re-posting of this hack is done strictly for preservation and archival purposes, aiming to keep historically notable Pokémon ROM hacks accessible for reference, discussion, and historical interest within the ROM hacking community, rather than active development or redistribution.

Story Overview

In Pokémon Giratina Strikes Back, you play as a 13-year-old boy or girl from the Lunoh Region. One morning your father—owner of a major company called EDGE Co.—tasks you with achieving what he never could: becoming a Pokémon Master.

You begin your journey with an Eevee as your first Pokémon and explore new regions filled with challenges, new characters, and gym leaders. Along the way, you discover that Team Genesis plans to unleash Giratina from the Distortion World and use its immense power for world domination. It’s up to you to stop them and save your world.
