About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Factory Adventure is a story-driven Kanto hack inspired by late-1990s internet Pokémon culture, specifically the fan-made Pokémon Factory website. Built on the Roaming Red engine by TShadowKnight, the hack combines open-world gameplay with level scaling and a surreal mystery narrative set after Red becomes Champion.

The game leans heavily into 90s nostalgia, recreating the eerie, experimental feeling of early fan Pokémon concepts—many of which were once circulated online as so-called “Pokégods.” These fan-created Pokémon have been carefully adapted into a cohesive experience, blending retro creativity with modern ROM hack mechanics.

Unlike traditional linear Kanto hacks, Pokémon Factory Adventure allows players to explore the region in almost any order, while uncovering the source of a strange mist that mutates Pokémon and places Kanto under military lockdown.

Story Overview

The year is 199X.

Several months after becoming Champion of the Kanto region, Red is called back into action by Blue for a secret mission. Something has gone terribly wrong in Kanto during his absence.

A mysterious mist has spread across the region, mutating Pokémon into strange and unfamiliar forms. These transformations have caused widespread panic, forcing the military to impose a lockdown across Kanto.

As Red, you must investigate the origin of these mutations. Along the way, you’ll encounter newly formed Pokémon, uncover hidden locations, and piece together the truth behind the crisis.

This isn’t just another journey—it’s a detective-style adventure where the fate of Kanto depends on your ability to uncover the mystery behind the phenomenon.
