About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Emerald Green is a challenging Pokémon LeafGreen ROM hack created by Sulfurous.
The hack introduces a unique region-swap concept where Kanto and Hoenn Pokémon have migrated, fundamentally changing wild encounters, battles, and progression.
Designed with difficulty and replayability in mind, Pokémon Emerald Green is especially suited for Nuzlocke runs, featuring stronger boss fights and altered Pokémon availability.
Story Overview
The story takes place in the Kanto Region, but recent events have changed everything.
Team Rocket has partnered with a shady organization known as the Trade Bureau, a company that profits from mass Pokémon trading. Together, they began capturing wild Pokémon in bulk and shipping them between regions. As a result, a massive event known as the Hoenn Migration occurred:
- Kanto Pokémon migrated to Hoenn
- Hoenn Pokémon migrated to Kanto
You begin your journey as a new Trainer in a Hoenn-infested Kanto Region, starting with one of the last remaining Kanto Pokémon. Using Hoenn Pokémon found in the wild, you must battle Trainers who still cling to their Kanto teams.
Your ultimate goal is to:
- Stop the corrupt Trade Bureau
- Take down Team Rocket once and for all
- Decide the outcome of a region vs. region conflict
