About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Emerald Advanced is a dex-replacement and balance-focused enhancement hack that reimagines the Hoenn region with a completely new Pokédex, modernized mechanics, and extensive narrative and structural changes. It draws inspiration from the developer’s earlier projects, Emerald Tier Shift and FireRed Advanced, while introducing original systems and large-scale region overhauls.
The hack aims to provide a challenging but enjoyable experience, prioritizing Pokémon viability, creative abilities, and exploration rather than extreme difficulty.
Story Overview
The core Hoenn storyline remains recognizable, but nearly all major dialogue has been rewritten, and many NPCs have been edited to give the region a fresh identity. One of the most significant changes is that Gym Leaders and Elite Four members have swapped positions, resulting in reworked Gyms, new puzzles, and altered progression.
Additional areas and reimagined locations, such as expanded Pokémon Centers and new service hubs, further change how players interact with Hoenn while preserving its original structure.
