About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Advanced Version is a FireRed hack that keeps the Kanto adventure intact but builds a lot on top of it — modern mechanics, expanded content, and features pulled from across the series' history.

The core story doesn't stray from FireRed, but almost everything surrounding it has been upgraded. Mega Evolutions and Primal forms are in, Gen VIII starter evolutions are available, and there's a custom system called Armor Evolutions that adds something you won't find in any official game. Pokémon availability is expanded, battles are more demanding, and the mechanics run deeper than what FireRed was originally built to handle.

It's aimed at players who want a Kanto run that actually pushes back — but the difficulty curve is built to work for both hardcore and casual players without locking either out.

Story Overview

The storyline is largely unchanged in its plot, but the expanded mechanics and Pokémon roster introduce new strategic depth to progression and battles, especially for hardcore Pokémon players seeking postgame challenges.
