About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Platinum Redux is a heavily rebalanced and difficulty‑focused ROM hack of Pokémon Platinum. Instead of simply improving the original game, this project completely redesigns how Pokémon function. Nearly every Pokémon has been altered through stat adjustments, typing changes, new moves, or regional forms.
The hack’s core idea is to ensure that every fully evolved Pokémon has a useful role throughout the game. To achieve that, the developer reworked abilities, learnsets, and typings while also introducing many regional variants with new type combinations.
While it shares some quality‑of‑life features with other well‑known Sinnoh hacks, Platinum Redux intentionally goes further with experimental mechanics and aggressive balance changes. The result is a more challenging and unpredictable experience where players frequently encounter altered Pokémon forms and unfamiliar strategies.
