This is a difficulty and overhaul hack of Pokemon FireRed that focuses on creating a more natural and immersive randomized experience.

Battles and encounters are always "unknown", which attempts to bring the unpredictability of competitive battling into the Kanto story.

All wild encounters, trainer battles, and gift pokemon are thematically randomized on the fly. This means that the Pokemon power level and types are derived from the vanilla engine. Unlike most other randomizers, you cannot encounter fully evolved or legendary Pokemon in route 1. Naturally, you cannot fish/surf a fire type.

As a result, the hack is very replayable, much more challenging than vanilla, and has a bit less entropy than most other randomizers have.

Game Modes

Trainer AI DifficultyDefault:

Pokemon from trainers are very challenging. They are thematically randomized on the spot, i.e expect entropy between battles!
Casual: Pokemon from trainers are not as powerful. They have near 0 IVs/EVs and neutral nature. This is still much harder than a vanilla game.

Toggle Options:

Itemless: Player cannot use their item bag in battle.
Level Caps: Player cannot level past the gym's max level.
Restricted Encounters: Only the first encounter per wild zone can be caught. This is not 100% faithful to nuzlocke encounter rules. It only restricts non-scripted wild encounters, which doesn't include gifts. Shiny and duplicate clauses are implemented.
Sadlocke: Pokemon will not obey you probabilistically if < neutral happiness. Whenever a Pokemon faints there is a massive penalty to their happiness. Walking for friendship is disabled. Raters are on every PC. Pairs well with restricted encounters!
