Hack of Pokemon Red/Blue with a focus on fun, difficulty, and post-game content while retaining the feeling of a definitive gen 1 experience.
List of Features
- All trainer parties, Pokemon and AI updated for greater difficulty and engagement. However, care has been taken to ensure the game is not frustratingly difficult
- A significant amount of additional and altered dialog to make the world more rich and fun
- Significant additional content with 47 new interesting enemy encounters, 29 of which are optional bosses intended for post-game
- Many different wild Pokemon are available in every area, in addition to the important vanilla encounters
- Pokemon sprites are a mixture of Blue, Green, and Yellow version sprites
- Added ability to rematch any trainer, but you gain half exp until post-game
- New features available after Elite Four, such as full exp on all rematches and max DVs on all Pokemon obtained
- Players can sprint at bike speed by holding B, animation speed doubles
- Players can warp home almost anytime by pressing A and Select together on the pause menu Exit option
- Players can forfeit battles by holding Select while trying to Run, the player will be asked for confirmation, useful for potential soft locks
- Elite four and many friendly bosses will not take the player's money upon defeating the player
- All in-game trades are different
- Boss enemies have better trained Pokemon with higher stats (stat exp / EVs)
- Items can not be used in boss battles, by a player or opponent
- Updated level-up moveset for all fully evolved Pokemon, they now learn good moves by level up
- Unique, starter, and legendary Pokemon always have good DVs at minimum
- Numerous bug fixes including removal of badge boost, removal of 1 in 256 glitch, fix re-application of PARA/BRN effects, critical hit rates halved
- Some mechanics fixes for example Substitute blocks status as it is supposed to
- Many Gen 1 mechanics are still left to keep the spirit of the game, such as Hyper Beam not recharging on a kill
- All 151 Pokemon are available with no missable Pokemon. Trade evolutions now evolve at level 40
- Multiples of all Legendary Pokemon available with new signature moves for Mewtwo, Mew, and Pikachu
- New enemies, such as Sephiroth, Cloud, Yuna, Yugi, Kaiba, Trunks, Wallace, Aizen, Mr. Miyagi, Chris Chan, and more
- All good TMs are available to purchase in Celadon as soon as you get there, but some are only given by Gym Leaders
- HM moves can be deleted at any time like normal moves, the warp home function protects you from trapping yourself
- Easier post-game grinding, with Exp.All giving full exp to the whole party and optional bosses giving huge bonus money
- Cerulean Cave Mewtwo has dialog on encounter, also when using a master ball and trying to run. Also has AI and different battle music
- Missingno glitch is still present (it wouldn't be gen 1 without it) but is balanced so the player can't exploit it
- Trainer fly (Mew glitch) has been removed (you can get Mew legitimately) as it can softlock the game
- Route 4 map has been changed to allow backtracking and easy access to Cerulean Cave
- Rock Tunnel map has a small change allowing the player to bypass much of it
