About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Saiph 2 is the third entry in The VytroVerse series and serves as a direct sequel to Pokémon Saiph. Built on FireRed using the Complete FireRed Upgrade (CFRU) and Dynamic Pokémon Expansion (DPE), this project modernizes the engine to near-current-generation standards while expanding the story into a much larger interconnected universe.
Version 1.4.0 is the full, complete release, including postgame content, multiple challenge modes, a Battle Frontier, and bilingual support. The game introduces a brand-new region, scalable difficulty systems, side quests, and a custom mechanic called Ancient Regression.
This isn’t just a sequel—it’s a major evolution of the series’ mechanics and world-building.
Story Overview
Welcome to the region of Regris.
Long ago, Regris—then known as Old Almia—was a peaceful nation. That peace was shattered when the ancient Pokémon Darkrai descended upon the region, spreading terror. The people were forced underground to escape its influence.
A knight eventually sealed Darkrai’s power and founded New Almia, causing Old Almia to rename itself Regris. From that moment forward, rivalry between the two nations simmered beneath the surface.
Three years after the events of Pokémon Saiph, and weeks after chaos in Hupest was resolved with the help of Micah Kusei, Micah and Darlo crash-land in Regris following a diplomatic mission gone wrong.
There, they encounter a radical organization known as the Regressists, who seek to reclaim Darkrai’s lost power. Whether their motives are protection, dominance, or something deeper remains unclear.
