About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Inmortal is a Spanish Pokémon FireRed ROM hack that places story and player choice at the center of the experience. Set several decades after the events of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the game introduces a completely original region, a mature narrative, and a protagonist whose journey begins from the perspective of Team Rocket rather than an aspiring Pokémon Champion.

Instead of following the traditional Gym-focused formula, the hack revolves around missions, promotions within Team Rocket, and moral decisions that influence how the story unfolds. While Gyms and the Pokémon League still exist, they are no longer the primary objective and are largely optional for story progression.

Pokémon Inmortal also features an ambitious collection of custom gameplay systems, including an advanced day and night cycle, seasonal changes, dynamic weather, AI-driven NPC schedules, clothing customization, swimming and diving mechanics, an energy system, Mega Evolution, and numerous graphical upgrades. Combined with a branching narrative and multiple endings, the hack aims to deliver a significantly different experience from the original FireRed.

Story Overview

Many years after the events of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Brendan has grown old and dedicated his life to researching Pokémon. During his studies, he discovers a mysterious stone capable of absorbing the power of Mewtwo.

Before he can fully investigate the discovery, Team Rocket kidnaps May, Brendan's wife, forcing him to assist the organization in locating and capturing the legendary Pokémon. Brendan desperately wants to rescue May while preventing Team Rocket from exploiting Mewtwo's immense power. However, Mewtwo possesses something Brendan secretly longs for above all else—the possibility of restoring his youth.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket's ambitions evolve beyond simply controlling the legendary Pokémon. After learning about Mewtwo's unique abilities, they begin pursuing a far greater goal: using Mewtwo as a source of eternal youth.

Rather than controlling Brendan, you play as a Pokémon biology student whose dream is to become a member of Team Rocket. After passing an initiation test arranged through your best friend, you officially join the organization as a Team Rocket Recruit. From there, you complete increasingly dangerous missions, earn promotions, and climb the ranks of the criminal organization.

As your assignments gradually bring you into direct conflict with Brendan and Team Rocket's plans involving Mewtwo, you are forced to confront difficult moral choices. Your decisions throughout the story ultimately determine whether you follow a path of good or evil, leading to one of two different endings.
