About This ROM Hack
Pokemon Edición Sin Amigos is a Spanish Pokémon Emerald ROM hack created for players who want to complete the entire Pokédex without relying on trading, multiplayer features, online services, or cheats. Rather than changing the story or dramatically altering the game, the project stays as faithful as possible to the original Pokémon Emerald experience while making every Pokémon obtainable in a single-player playthrough.
The developer describes the hack as being made for purists, preserving the original storyline and overall gameplay while modifying encounters, event scripts, evolution methods, and event item availability. Instead of placing legendary Pokémon randomly in the wild, inaccessible event Pokémon become available through their original event sequences after obtaining the required event items by fulfilling specific in-game requirements.
The hack also includes two versions: one with a Day/Night (DNS) System and another that retains the classic Emerald time behavior for players who prefer the original experience.
Documentation included with the project explains every modified evolution, Pokémon location, and the requirements needed to obtain each event item.
Key Features
- Complete National Pokédex in Single Player: All 386 Pokémon can be obtained without trading, multiplayer, online services, or cheat devices.
- Faithful Vanilla Experience: The original Pokémon Emerald story and progression remain almost entirely unchanged.
- Purist Design Philosophy: Gameplay is intentionally kept as close to the original game as possible while removing completion barriers.
- Reworked Pokémon Locations: Wild encounters and obtainable Pokémon have been adjusted so every species can eventually be collected.
- Modified Evolution Methods: Trade evolutions and other unavailable evolution methods have been changed for single-player completion.
- Event Item Scripts: Previously inaccessible event items can now be earned through simple in-game requirements instead of external distributions.
- Authentic Legendary Encounters: Legendary Pokémon are not randomly placed in grass or caves. Instead, event-exclusive legendaries become available through their original event sequences after obtaining the appropriate event items.
- Complete Documentation: The included files explain modified evolutions, Pokémon encounter locations, event item requirements, and patching instructions.
- Optional Day/Night System: Two patches are available, allowing players to choose between a version with the DNS Day/Night System or a version without it.
- Minor Visual Improvements: Includes a custom title screen, updated Professor introduction, some sprite edits, and a few quality-of-life script additions.

The developer notes a few limitations:
