About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Diamante: Desafío Sinnoh is a Spanish ROM hack of Pokémon Diamond created by Carlos Zúñiga with one primary goal: to provide a significantly more challenging fourth-generation Pokémon experience. It is designed for experienced players and is especially recommended for Nuzlocke runs or other self-imposed challenge playthroughs.

Rather than changing the original storyline, the hack completely rebalances the gameplay. Wild Pokémon encounters have been redesigned to make nearly the entire National Pokédex obtainable during a single adventure, while trainers throughout Sinnoh use stronger, more varied teams with improved strategies.

The Gym Leaders and Elite Four have been extensively rebuilt, each using full teams of six Pokémon equipped with advanced movesets, Egg Moves, held items, and carefully planned team synergy. Numerous Pokémon have also received balance adjustments through new typings, updated abilities, modified learnsets, and alternative evolution methods.

The final version further refines the game's balance by smoothing out level progression, adjusting Pokémon learnsets for the Pokémon League, and improving the equipment used by League opponents to create difficult but fair battles.

Key Features

  • High-Difficulty Gameplay: Designed specifically for experienced players and highly recommended for Nuzlocke challenge runs.

  • Enhanced Gym Leaders: Every Gym Leader uses a full team of six Pokémon with advanced movesets, Egg Moves, held items, and effective team synergy.
  • Elite Four Rebalance: The Elite Four and Champion feature complete competitive-style teams designed to provide one of the hack's greatest challenges.

  • Updated Abilities: Many Pokémon gain new abilities that enhance their usefulness.
  • Expanded Learnsets: Numerous Pokémon learn additional attacks at higher levels.

  • Modified In-Game Trades: Internal trades now reward Pokémon holding special event items such as the Member Card, Oak's Letter, and Azure Flute.
  • Final Version Balance Improvements: The final update adjusts overall level progression, fine-tunes Pokémon learnsets for the Pokémon League, and equips League teams with carefully selected held items such as Leftovers, Life Orb, Berries, and weather-supporting rocks.
  • Additional Type Update: Zangoose has been given the Dark-type in the final release.

Known Bugs & Issues

The developer noted one known issue:

  • Some Pokémon can incorrectly learn every HM. The developer attempted to fix this but was unable to completely remove the bug. It has been left in the final release because it does not significantly affect gameplay.

Aside from this issue, the ROM is considered the final completed version.
