Pokemon Blu Idro is an Italian FireRed modification that recreates the feel of the original Japanese Pokémon Blue while using Pokémon FireRed as its foundation. The title "Blu Idro" comes from the Italian name for the Water Stone (Pietra Idrica). According to the developer, just as Pokémon FireRed is named after the Fire Stone rather than simply "Flame Red," this project adopts the corresponding naming convention for a Blue-themed counterpart instead of using names like Aqua Blue.
