About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Los Orígenes is a Spanish story-focused ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed that takes the familiar characters Red and Green in a completely different direction. Rather than retelling the original Kanto adventure, the hack introduces an original region, new villains, custom events, and a darker narrative centered around mysterious relics known as the Chaos Talismans.
The story begins after Green's repeated defeats have filled him with resentment. A mysterious stranger gifts him a black Poké Ball, a Chaos Glove, and a map leading to immense power. Accepting these gifts slowly corrupts Green, setting him on a path to conquer the world. Meanwhile, Red travels to the distant Sephiroth Region with only his trusted Pikachu to rescue his former rival before it's too late.
Although still released as a beta, the project places a strong emphasis on storytelling, custom locations, and scripted events rather than simply modifying gameplay mechanics.
Story Overview
After suffering countless defeats, Green gradually becomes consumed by bitterness and hatred. During his travels, he encounters a mysterious figure who offers him a strange black Poké Ball, an unusual glove, and a map. After witnessing the overwhelming power of the Pokémon contained within the dark Poké Ball, Green accepts the gifts, unknowingly allowing an evil force to consume his humanity.
The mysterious map reveals the existence of the Chaos Amulets, ancient relics capable of granting enough power to dominate the world. Driven by this promise, Green begins searching for them while falling deeper under the influence of darkness.
Not long afterward, Red receives news that Green has been seen flying toward the distant Sephiroth Region. Hoping to bring his friend home, Red begins his journey accompanied only by his special Pikachu, leaving the rest of his team behind because of the dangers that await.
The adventure also revolves around the legendary Cave of the Final Challenge, a mysterious cave that appears only once every hundred years atop Mt. Destiny. According to legend, only the bearer of the Sacred Talisman and its eight blessed fragments can enter the cave, overcome its elemental guardians, and claim the power hidden within before the cave disappears forever.
