About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Islas del Viento is a Spanish-language Pokémon project developed by Jack Johnson with assistance from Glace_91. According to the developer, this was the first major ROM hacking project they seriously began before later working on projects such as Triángulo Origen and Hoenn Adventures.
Built using the Pokémon Emerald decompilation, the game takes place in the original Eolia Region, an archipelago made up of six islands. The project introduces new gameplay systems, original Pokémon-related content, regional forms, and several custom mechanics designed specifically for the Eolia setting.
At the time of the available demo, development was still in its early stages, with the first public version representing a small portion of the intended adventure. The demo focuses primarily on introducing the setting, story premise, and core mechanics that would form the basis of the full game.
Story Overview
You have recently moved to Eolia, a distant region composed of six islands. Shortly after arriving, your neighbor, Professor Quercus, organizes an expedition in which young trainers help document and study the Pokémon that inhabit the region.
What initially begins as a scientific exploration soon takes a darker turn. During the course of the expedition, Professor Quercus is kidnapped by a mysterious organization known as Team Reborn.
As a result, the original Pokémon survey mission transforms into a rescue operation. Players must uncover the secrets behind Team Reborn while exploring the islands of Eolia and attempting to save the missing professor.
