About This ROM Hack
Pokemon Edición Team Rocket is a large-scale Spanish Pokémon FireRed ROM hack that places the player inside the Team Rocket organization and retells the events of Kanto from the perspective of one of Giovanni's recruits.
Rather than playing as the traditional hero, you begin as a low-ranking Team Rocket member and gradually rise through the organization's hierarchy by completing missions assigned by your superiors. As your rank increases, your appearance changes to reflect your status within Team Rocket.
The hack is one of the largest story-focused FireRed projects available, featuring four complete regions, hundreds of obtainable Pokémon, over a thousand trainers, custom music, side quests, new maps, and a storyline designed to fit alongside the events of Pokémon Red and Blue.
The game also expands Pokémon lore through new forms, Rocket experiments, additional Mega Evolutions, and Pokémon from the 1997 Gold and Silver beta being integrated into the world as canon.
Story Overview
You begin your adventure as an ordinary Team Rocket recruit stationed at the headquarters on Isla Inta in the Sevii Islands. Your objective is simple: complete missions, earn promotions, and climb the ranks of the organization.
The story takes place during the same timeline as the adventures of Red and Blue. Eventually, you are transferred to Kanto, where you witness many familiar events from a completely different perspective.
Instead of following the journey of the traditional protagonist, you experience what happens behind the scenes within Team Rocket. The story explores the organization's operations, expands on various Pokémon theories, and attempts to connect its events with the established canon of the original games.
As a Team Rocket member, your goal is to do everything possible to prevent the organization's downfall and support Giovanni's ambitions. However, the story still exists alongside the canonical events of Pokémon Red and Blue, creating an ongoing conflict between the player's actions and the outcome fans already know.
The adventure eventually expands beyond Kanto into Archi7, Johto, and Hoenn, greatly increasing the scale of the story.
