About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Volcano is a story-driven FireRed ROM hack that reimagines Sinnoh through a catastrophic past event involving Heatran and Team Galactic. Instead of being a simple improvement hack, this project focuses on custom narrative, world design, and adventure elements with a new continent, puzzles, and rivals.
Because the hack is still in Beta 1, some systems and areas may be incomplete or subject to change.
Story Overview
Years ago, Team Galactic attempted to create a new universe and stole the sacred Magma Stone. Enraged, Heatran pursued them, eventually unleashing a devastating volcanic eruption that reshaped Sinnoh and left destruction across the region.
Twenty years later, Sinnoh has recovered, and a new generation of trainers rises. The protagonist, Cris, turns 16 and sets off with friends Constantine and Emily. While they believe Cris is without a Pokémon, he secretly bonded with Chimchar after an earlier encounter involving Team Rocket in Hoenn.
The trio begins a challenge to see who can first defeat the Pokémon League’s High Command, while Team Galactic continues its long-term goal of reclaiming the Magma Stone and controlling Heatran.
