About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Ultra Blaze is a FireRed-based ROM hack that completely reimagines the classic GBA framework by introducing a brand-new region, original storyline, and expanded modern Pokémon mechanics. The hack is built around the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo, blending elements from both the Alola and Kalos regions into a new connected narrative experience.
The game introduces new characters, rivals, redesigned gyms, and modern features like rideable Pokémon, all while keeping the familiar FireRed engine underneath. One of its defining aspects is how it merges Gen 7 aesthetics and systems into a classic-style Pokémon game, creating a hybrid experience between old-school gameplay and modern Pokémon design.
The presence of major factions like Team Flare and the Aether Foundation adds a more story-driven tone compared to traditional FireRed hacks, making it feel closer to a modern Pokémon RPG interpretation.
Story Overview
In the Onalowa Region, news spreads that Solgaleo, the Blazing Legendary Sun Pokémon from Alola, has arrived. Team Flare, from Kalos, plans to capture Solgaleo to harness its flame power. Lysandre seeks to create the ultimate force, dubbed Ultra Blaze, intending to become the strongest Pokémon Trainer.
Lusamine, President of the Aether Foundation, intervenes and enlists the player’s help to awaken the Legendary Moon Pokémon and use its Ultra Moon Power to stop Team Flare. Players must explore Onalowa, uncover secrets, face Team Flare, and prevent Lysandre from achieving ultimate power.
