About This ROM Hack

Pokémon ToxicPurple is a Team Rocket-centric FireRed ROM hack where players take the role of a new Team Rocket recruit navigating the criminal organization’s missions. The hack emphasizes stealth, heists, and unconventional challenges over the traditional Gym progression. Players engage in stealing Pokémon, battling trainers, and participating in Team Rocket’s schemes across Kanto and Johto.

Story Overview

Players start as Corey, a Team Rocket trainee, graduating from boot camp and sent to Saffron City’s hidden Rocket base. Under the tutelage of Team Rocket leaders, you begin missions like venturing to Lavender Town and poaching Pokémon, culminating in high-stakes operations like taking over Silph Co. Over the course of the story, Team Rocket faces defeats and reorganization, requiring your intervention in their various incarnations.

Along the way, players encounter rivals, mini-rivals, and recurring heroes like Red, Kris, and Officer Jenny, while contending with legendary Pokémon like Mewtwo. The story blends crime, strategy, and a unique perspective on the Pokémon world, letting you experience it from the “villain” side.
