Instead of traditional Pokémon, the game introduces “Bonekas” — puppet-like characters inspired by the Touhou Project series, effectively replacing all original creatures. This gives the game a completely different identity while still running on the familiar FireRed engine.

Story Overview
Long ago, Patchouli Knowledge grew frustrated with Marisa Kirisame constantly stealing her books. To protect her library, Patchouli created puppets with intelligence and power. Unfortunately, Marisa stole one of her manuals and created her own army of puppets. In response, Patchouli unleashed powerful magic, destroying both armies and part of her library.
Over time, puppets (Bonekas) became widespread and are now treated like pets. Players journey through this reimagined world, capturing Bonekas and uncovering the lore behind their origins.
