About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Tempest is a beginner-developed but steadily expanding ROM hack that started as a learning project and evolved into a full original-region Pokémon adventure set in the Uchio Region.

The hack places you in the role of a new trainer starting in Red Rock Town, where your journey quickly expands into a larger regional conflict involving multiple evil organizations, including the mysterious Team Flash and the returning Team Rocket.

Despite its early development stage (Beta 1.0), the hack already introduces a structured progression through gyms, story events, and rival encounters, giving it a classic but slightly more challenging Pokémon feel.

Story Overview

You begin your journey as a young trainer in Red Rock Town, setting out to explore the newly created Uchio Region.

At first, everything follows a traditional Pokémon adventure structure—starting Pokémon, early routes, and gym challenges. However, as the story unfolds, you begin to uncover suspicious activity from Team Flash, a new villainous organization operating within the region.

Alongside this, Team Rocket also appears, adding complexity to the region’s conflict and hinting that multiple forces are competing for control behind the scenes.

With four gyms available in the current beta, your journey focuses on early-region exploration, rival encounters, and uncovering the truth behind these organizations while building your team across classic Generation I–III Pokémon.
