About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Sunrise Orange is a GBA ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed that transports players to the Orange Islands, offering a brand-new story, unique regional Pokémon forms, and fresh gameplay mechanics. The hack combines classic FireRed gameplay with anime-inspired features like Orange Island forms and a new villainous team, Team Umbra.
It also includes features such as Physical/Special Split, Fairy type, and regional dex Pokémon spanning Gen I-III with some later generation inclusions, while preserving the core FireRed mechanics via Mr. Dollsteak’s ROM Base.
Story Overview
Players move to Valencia Island and receive a starter Pokémon from Professor Ivy. Together with her sister, they embark on a journey across the Orange Islands, aiming to challenge the Orange Crew and prove themselves as a skilled trainer.
However, a villainous group called Team Umbra threatens the peace of the archipelago, and it is up to the player to stop their schemes while exploring the islands, capturing Pokémon, and completing challenges unique to this region.
