About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Strike! Yellow is a complete overhaul of the classic Pokémon Yellow Version for the Game Boy Color. Instead of changing the core story, this hack focuses on mechanical upgrades, battle balance, expanded movepools, and visual improvements, making Kanto feel more strategic and modern while keeping its nostalgic roots intact.
The project enhances nearly every gameplay system — Pokémon stats, trainer rosters, learnsets, moves, and map visuals — resulting in a tougher and more refined Generation 1 experience.
Story Overview
The main storyline follows the traditional Pokémon Yellow journey through Kanto, but the challenge level and battle design have been significantly upgraded.
You still travel across Kanto, defeat Gym Leaders, challenge the Elite Four, and confront your Rival — but expect smarter teams, improved movepools, stronger Pokémon, and more competitive-style encounters. The focus is not on a new narrative, but on transforming the original adventure into a more balanced and tactical experience.
