About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Stone Dragon is a completed FireRed remake-style ROM hack that blends anime-inspired storytelling with modern-generation Pokémon content. The game introduces a redesigned region that feels similar to Kanto in layout but features entirely new cities, routes, gyms, and characters.

This hack stands out by letting players begin their adventure as Ash or Gary, bringing familiar anime personalities into a brand-new quest centered on the legendary Pokémon Zekrom. With updated graphics, later-generation Pokémon, and Mega Evolution, it offers a mix of nostalgia and modern mechanics.

Story Overview

Your journey begins in Pokémon Village, where you visit Professor Oak’s laboratory to receive your first Pokémon. However, this adventure quickly grows beyond the typical gym challenge.

The villainous E.Rocket organization has captured the legendary Pokémon Zekrom, threatening the balance of the region. Your mission is to stop them and recover the legendary Dragon Pokémon before its power is misused.

Along the way, you will meet several characters inspired by the Pokémon anime, including Ash, Gary, and rivals like Paul. Although the region structure resembles Kanto in exploration flow, the storyline, gyms, badges, and leaders are completely original.
