About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Spark Yellow is a deeply enhanced remake-style hack of Pokémon Yellow, built using the pokeyellow disassembly. It aims to modernize the original Gen 1 experience while preserving its nostalgic core.
The project focuses heavily on visual upgrades, gameplay improvements, and expanded mechanics, including features inspired by later generations. Almost every aspect—from sprites and tilesets to battle systems and Pokémon availability—has been reworked or improved.
Unlike simple enhancement hacks, this project is ambitious and evolving, with ongoing development adding new systems like day/night cycles, new typings, and even potential future content like new Pokémon or maps.
