About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Septo Conquest is a FireRed-based ROM hack set in a completely original region made up of seven distinct islands plus a final hidden mini-island. Instead of the classic Gym progression, the game focuses on conquering territory by defeating powerful rulers known as the Barons.
The hack mixes a lighthearted, humorous tone with a rebellion-driven storyline, where you are the rightful heir to a fallen kingdom. The structure is more mission-based than traditional Pokémon games, giving each island its own identity, environment, and challenges.
The developers describe it as a project built by friends aiming to prove that even small teams can create a full ROM hack experience with personality, humor, and ambition.
Story Overview
One year ago, the King of the Septo Region was assassinated, and his kingdom was seized by two tyrants known as The Dictators. Professor Oak, once the King’s chief researcher, managed to rescue the King’s only child and secretly brought them to Faris Town.
Now raised by an alcoholic foster mother and unaware of your royal heritage, your life changes the moment Oak gives you your first Pokémon. As the true heir to Septo, you must reclaim the region by overthrowing the Seven Barons, each ruling one of Septo’s main islands.
Along the way, you will confront two hostile organizations—Team Vine, extremist eco-warriors who protect nature through destructive means, and Team Solar, ruthless criminals responsible for kidnappings, theft, and chaos across the islands. The journey blends political conflict, humor, and classic Pokémon adventure as you move toward the final confrontation with the Dictators themselves.

The region of Septo is divided into seven main islands, with a smaller mini-island to the west. Here's a short description of each:
- 1st Island: The island you begin the game in. It's a foresty island with lots of twisting mazes.
- 2nd Island: This is a muddy, barren island with only one town. Lots of rocks and caves.
- 3rd Island: It's a tropical beach island. It's the smallest of the seven islands.
- 4th Island: This island is mostly made up of open fields. Has many thugs running about.
- 5th Island: A very misty island where visibility is really low.
- 6th Island: This is the biggest of the main seven islands. It's constantly raining, and several places are flooded.
- 7th Island: Made up of mountains and is very sunny. Lots of hikers around.
- The mini-island can only be accessed after completing all seven islands. The final bosses are on this little island.
