About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Scarlet Blaze is a FireRed-based ROM hack that reimagines the Kanto journey with a much heavier focus on story expansion, modern mechanics, and new event-driven content.

The hack is presented as a reworked version of Kanto with added narrative depth, introducing new factions, expanded side quests, and additional gameplay systems not found in the original game. It also includes multiple updates and beta revisions, showing ongoing development and expansion.

One of its defining traits is the integration of new regional trials and side systems (like the Johto Trials and Police Academy quests), which extend progression beyond the traditional Gym structure.

The hack also blends modern Pokémon mechanics with Gen 3 foundations, including updated visuals, battle systems, and quality-of-life improvements.

Story Overview

You begin your journey as Crimson/Scarlet, the son/daughter of the legendary trainer RED, the original protagonist of the Pokémon world. Unlike a typical adventure, your identity is fixed and tied directly to this legacy.

Your journey starts in Kanto, where your early goal is to uncover the truth about your parents while facing off against your rival SKY (Blue’s son).

As the story progresses, your path evolves beyond personal discovery into something much larger. You begin to prove not only to others, but to yourself, that you are not just living in RED’s shadow—you are capable of surpassing him.

However, the world is unstable.

A new organization called Team Rebel rises after the disappearance of Team Rocket across Kanto and Johto. Unlike traditional criminal organizations, Team Rebel operates openly as a revolutionary force opposing the government. This escalates the region into a state of conflict, turning your journey into a large-scale rebellion-driven storyline.

As you progress, you find yourself arriving at exactly the right time to witness and influence this growing conflict, shaping the outcome of a full-scale uprising across the region.
