About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Scarlet Blaze is a story-driven FireRed ROM hack that reimagines the Kanto region with modern mechanics, heavy narrative focus, and extensive gameplay upgrades inspired by Generations 4, 5, and later. Built on advanced ROM bases and custom scripting, the hack emphasizes character legacy, rebellion, and regional unity while delivering a feature-rich gameplay experience.

With redesigned maps, HGSS-style visuals, DS-inspired sprites, and a large number of quality-of-life improvements, Scarlet Blaze aims to feel like a modern Pokémon title within the GBA engine.

Story Overview

You play as Crimson or Scarlet (names are fixed regardless of player input), the son or daughter of RED, the original protagonist. Your journey begins in Kanto with a personal mission: uncover the truth about your parents while clashing with your rival SKY, the son of Blue.

As your adventure progresses, your goal evolves from self-discovery into proving—to yourself and all of Kanto—that you are not living in RED’s shadow, but capable of surpassing him.

Meanwhile, a new faction known as Team Rebel rises in the aftermath of Team Rocket’s disappearance from Kanto and Johto. Unlike Rocket, Team Rebel is not a secretive crime syndicate—they are open revolutionaries fighting against the government itself. As tensions escalate, you soon realize your journey coincides with the outbreak of an all-out rebellion, placing you at the center of political conflict, regional unrest, and destiny-defining trials.
