About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Satanic Lavender Town Version is a creepypasta-inspired horror ROM hack that reimagines Lavender Town as a place of forbidden knowledge, occult symbolism, and psychological terror. Rather than offering a traditional Pokémon adventure, this hack focuses on atmosphere, unsettling storytelling, and scripted horror events.

The game draws heavily from classic Pokémon urban legends and internet horror stories, especially those surrounding Lavender Town, transforming them into an interactive experience designed to unsettle the player rather than challenge them mechanically.

Story Overview

The story is presented as a disturbing first-person account of a strange discovery within Lavender Town. While investigating the town to debunk old rumors, the protagonist uncovers a hidden, camouflaged passage near the Poké Mart that leads to a mysterious cave.

Inside the cave, the familiar Lavender Town music continues to play, accompanied by thick fog and an oppressive atmosphere. The environment begins to affect the player physically and mentally, creating a sense of dread and isolation. Escape becomes impossible, menus stop functioning, and the cave stretches endlessly forward.

Along the path, the player encounters a Latin inscription, later revealed to be a biblical passage associated with Lucifer’s fall from heaven. At the end of the cave stands a dark figure who introduces himself as Belial, a demonic trainer depicted as a goat-headed entity.

Belial challenges the player to a battle using impossibly strong Pokémon, including a level 100 Houndoom with illegal moves. Defeat does not result in a normal blackout. Instead, the player is subjected to cryptic Latin messages, threats, and an ominous promise of damnation.

After returning to Lavender Town, the cave becomes inaccessible, the world feels altered, and repeated encounters may result in game crashes, softlocks, or erased save data, reinforcing the horror narrative that some doors should never be opened.
