About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Royal Emerald is a gameplay-focused Emerald hack with minor story and map changes. The hack incorporates Pokémon from Generations 1–6, revamped type charts, updated moves, and enhanced difficulty. While the map remains largely similar to vanilla Emerald, the hack offers new evolutions, movepools, abilities, and TMs, making battles more strategic and challenging.

Story Overview

This hack retains the original Hoenn storyline with the player facing Gym Leaders, rivals, Team Magma, Team Aqua, and the Elite Four. However, the level curve has been adjusted, giving opponents evolved Pokémon with improved movesets, increasing the overall difficulty. Some Gym Leaders have modified teams (e.g., Roxanne now uses Normal-types, Brawly uses Ground-types), and the Elite Four no longer specializes in a single type.
