About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Paragon is a mechanics-heavy and story-driven Pokémon Emerald hack set in a completely new universe called the Medley Region. The concept focuses on blending multiple generations of Pokémon content into one unified experience while giving players meaningful choices that affect story progression.

Unlike traditional Pokémon hacks that follow a linear Gym-to-League structure, Paragon introduces branching decisions, faction alignment, and moral choice systems, allowing players to join major villain organizations or oppose them entirely.

The hack is also heavily focused on modernization, bringing in systems from later Pokémon generations such as Fairy type, Mega Evolution, Physical/Special/Status split, updated abilities, and expanded move pools up to Gen 6. It feels less like a simple Emerald remake and more like a fusion of multiple Pokémon eras inside a single world.

Story Overview

The story takes place in the Medley Region, a unique alternate universe where people and Pokémon from many different regions coexist. This creates a blended world where familiar faces from organizations like Team Rocket, Team Magma, and Team Aqua reappear—but their true intentions are unclear.

As the player, you are not locked into a fixed heroic path. Instead, you can choose your alignment:

  • Join Team Rocket
  • Join Team Aqua
  • Join Team Magma
  • Or oppose all factions as a traditional trainer

Your decisions influence how events unfold across the region. The story is built around mystery and conflict, where each organization may not be following their original goals. Something larger may be happening behind the scenes, and your path determines how much of the truth you uncover.

This structure introduces branching outcomes, choice-based events, and even losable battles, making progression less predictable than standard Pokémon games.
