About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Moon Emerald is a Pokémon Emerald–based GBA ROM hack designed to bring Generation 7 Pokémon and Alola-themed mechanics into the Hoenn region. Rather than rewriting the original plot, the hack focuses on transforming Emerald into a Generation 7 showcase, where Alola Pokémon, Alola Forms, Fairy typing, and modern mechanics coexist within the classic Hoenn structure.
The primary goal of the hack is to allow players to experience all Alola Pokémon as capturable while preserving the familiar Emerald progression.
Story Overview
The storyline remains largely identical to Pokémon Emerald. Players still journey through Hoenn, challenge Gym Leaders, face Team Aqua and Team Magma, and pursue the Pokémon League.
What changes is the Pokémon ecosystem itself. Hoenn is reimagined as a mixed-generation region where Alola Pokémon, Alola Forms, and modern mechanics naturally integrate into the existing world, creating a fresh gameplay experience without altering the narrative flow.
Key Features
- Alola Starters: Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio replace the traditional starters, while all three remain obtainable during the adventure.
- Generation 7 Pokémon Integration: All Generation 7 Pokémon are implemented with proper stats, moves, abilities, and official data.
- Alola Forms: Every Alola Form is included and obtainable within the game.
- Mixed National Pokédex: Pokémon from Generations 1 through 7 appear throughout Hoenn, though not every species from earlier generations is included.
- Fossil Pokémon Changes: Amaura and Tyrunt replace the Root and Claw Fossils and can be revived accordingly.
