Story

This is Pokémon Emerald RTO6 (short for Randomized Team of Six!), a modification of Pokémon Emerald. In this game, you are given six totally randomized Pokémon right from the get-go. The challenge of the game is that you will not be permitted to use any Pokémon other than the six randomized Pokémon provided to you! All gift Pokémon have been removed, Poké Balls are not usable, and you cannot breed your Pokémon. This was made with the idea of being Nuzlocked, but you can play casually as well!

List of Features

General Mechanics:
  • Upon selecting a starter Pokémon, the player will receive six random Pokémon, at Level 5, with default movesets.
  • Poké Balls and all variations cannot be used in Wild Pokémon battles.
  • Due to the fact that players cannot use Poké Balls, the Safari Zone game is no longer accessible. However, players can still free roam within the Safari Zone to battle Pokémon and collect the items there (similar to how Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire implemented it).
  • Eggs are no longer given to the player from the daycare.
  • Gift Pokémon like Castform, Beldum, and the Wynaut egg are no longer given to the player.
  • Fossils can no longer be obtained by players.
  • The Link Multi Battle Challenge counter in the Battle Tower has been removed to prevent players from using the bug that allows for Pokémon and items to be duplicated.
  • Shedinja is no longer obtained when evolving Ninjask.
Quality of Life:
  • Many strings of text and events have been shortened in length or removed entirely to get players through the game faster.
  • Running shoes are enabled at the start of the game and players can run indoors.
  • The Cut, Rock Smash, Strength, Surf, Dive, and Waterfall field moves can all be used outside of battle without the moves being known by a Pokémon. As long as the player owns the HM and has met badge requirements, they can be used directly in the field upon interaction with the relevant obstacle. These field moves can still be used by Pokémon from the party menu as well.
  • New Hikers added to Granite Cave and Victory Road will use Flash for you to light the cave up. Flash can still be used from the party menu as well.
  • If the player has met the requirements to use Fly, it can be used without being known by a Pokémon by holding R and selecting "POKéMON" from the start menu. It can also still be used by Pokémon from the party menu as well.
  • HM moves can be freely overwritten without using the Move Deleter.
  • The second floor of all Pokémon Centers have been replaced with a service area. In this area, an attendant can help players evolve trade evolution Pokémon by allowing the player to trade an exact copy of their Pokémon to themselves.
  • In the Pokémon Center service area, players can purchase items to evolve Pokémon instead of seeking them out elsewhere in the game. The items available to the player vary depending on the player's progress. For more information, see the Service Area section below.
  • The Regi trio can be visited without having a Wailord and Relicanth in the party. The puzzles in each chamber are also automatically solved due to HM dependency.
  • Rydel gives the player both bikes. Swapping bikes is no longer available.
  • All berry spawns will now give 100 of the berry picked and grow in 4 hours.
  • Options on the PC and berries have been rearranged.
  • New Game save files starts with fast text speed and stereo sound by default.
Service Area:
  • The following items are available to purchase from the second floor of any Pokémon Center:
    • Immediately: King's Rock
    • After Gym 3: Moon Stone, Sun Stone
    • After Gym 4: Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunderstone, Leaf Stone
    • After Gym 5: TM28 Dig, Up-Grade, Steel Coat
    • After Gym 6: Dragon Scale
    • After returning the Scanner: DeepSeaTooth, DeepSeaScale
    • After becoming Champion: Rare Candy
