About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Elite Quest is a revived ROM hack project that originally began in December 2009. After being canceled in early 2010 to allow the developer time to improve their ROM hacking knowledge, the project later returned in an enhanced form.
The goal of Elite Quest is to deliver a classic Pokémon adventure with expanded scope, featuring a brand-new region, an original storyline centered on Team Rocket and Celebi, and a mix of Pokémon from different generations—including Fakémon.
Story Overview
Years ago, the legendary trainer Red saved the Kanto region from Team Rocket when they took over Silph Co. Later, a boy named Gold defeated Team Rocket once again in the Johto region at the Goldenrod Radio Tower.
After their defeat in Johto, Team Rocket vanished for years.
Now, they have resurfaced—this time in the exotic and unfamiliar region of Solia. Their goal is far more ambitious than before: to capture Celebi, the mythical Master of Time.
You play as a boy turning 15 years old, beginning his journey on what should be a happy day. At Professor Palm’s laboratory, you receive your very first Pokémon and set out to explore Solia, challenge Gyms, and collect badges.
After earning your first Gym Badge, you travel through the mysterious DarkWoods on your way to the next city. There, you hear a strange Pokémon cry and briefly see a small green Pokémon before suddenly blacking out.
When you awaken, everything is pitch black. Disembodied voices echo around you:
“Okay, we go to Solia tomorrow, then we begin our plot to capture Celebi! With Celebi under our control, our plan to g… e… a…”The voice fades. The strange Pokémon cries out again.
You awaken back in the forest, unsure whether what you experienced was a vision, a dream—or a glimpse into Team Rocket’s true plan. From this moment on, your journey becomes more than a badge quest: it is a race against time to stop Team Rocket before they rewrite history itself.
