About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Discovery reimagines the Pokémon adventure as a survival expedition rather than a traditional trainer journey. Set in a completely new environment, the game removes familiar Pokémon League mechanics and replaces them with story-driven progression, exploration, and mystery.

Instead of badges and gyms, players uncover talisman fragments, explore dangerous wilderness zones, and confront hostile Pokémon that behave more like wild creatures than friendly companions.

Story Overview

You begin your journey as an enlisted sailor on your first official deployment. Multiple S.S. Navy vessels have gone missing near the waters of an uncharted landmass, prompting the deployment of the SS Eclipse to investigate.

Before disaster strikes, Chief of the Boat Hesarg shares ancient legends of Pokémon and presents you with a mysterious artifact tied to their existence. Soon after, the SS Eclipse is attacked by an unknown phenomenon and sinks beneath the sea.

You awaken on the shores of the uncharted land with only a handful of survivors. Hundreds are presumed lost, and countless others are missing. As you explore the island searching for survivors, you quickly realize that this land is hostile, unexplored, and deadly.

The true horror sets in when:

  • You hear screams echoing through the forests
  • You encounter unknown Pokémon species that hunt for survival
  • You realize escape may not be possible

Pokémon Discovery tells a grounded, darker story focused on survival, exploration, and the unknown.
