About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Kanto Z is a Spanish-language enhancement ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed that modernizes the original Kanto adventure by incorporating mechanics and content from later Pokémon generations. Rather than completely replacing the classic experience, the hack focuses on refreshing FireRed with contemporary gameplay features, expanded Pokémon availability, and numerous quality-of-life improvements.
The game expands the available Pokémon roster to include species from Generations I through VII, while also implementing modern battle mechanics such as the Physical/Special Split and the Fairy-type. Alongside these additions are new moves, new Abilities, improved battle systems, and various gameplay refinements designed to make revisiting Kanto feel more current.
Beyond battle mechanics, Pokémon Kanto Z introduces several convenience features, including running indoors, reusable TMs, a PokéMart inventory that expands as you progress through the game, and a cleaner presentation with decapitalized text. The hack also adds new events, original characters, Legendary encounters, and optional gameplay modes, giving returning FireRed players fresh content without straying too far from the familiar Kanto journey.
As of the available information, Pokémon Kanto Z is currently in Beta v0.1, meaning the project is still under active development and additional content may be added in future releases.
